Ram Gopal Verma Served Legal Notice By FWICE over Non-Payment of Dues to Artists And Technicians; filmmaker banned by the Organisation
According to the IndianExpress, Ram Gopal Verma has been served with legal notice by Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) over non-payment of dues. The report stated that FWICE has decided that none of its 32 unions will work with the filmmaker. As per the report, RGV has allegedly not paid around Rs 1.25 crore to artistes, technicians and workers. Speaking of the ban, the report stated that the film body took the action after Ram Gopal Varma did not respond to the legal notice sent to him.
In his Statements, FWICE President BN Tiwari said, “We also sent a letter to the Chief Minister of Goa on September 10, 2020. We wanted Ram Gopal Verma to clear all the due of poor technicians, artists and workers but he never did. Hence, we have decided to not work with him in the future. We have also notified Indian Motion Pictures Producers’ Association (IMPPA) and Producers Guild of India (GUILD), among other unions about this.”
